Description | While undertaking a PhD is in itself a noble and worthwhile endeavour, it is necessary to put your project in perspective with your career planning as well with your other workload and work-life balance. But how situating each step of your PhD project within the big picture of your career planning and therefore not lose track of your objectives? The logical framework is a very pertinent approach to get the big picture, define objectives and resources (such as time, energy, material…), follow the right path. The Logical Framework Approach (LFA) is a methodology originally used by managers for designing, monitoring, and evaluating international development projects.
Workshop Content: DAY 1 • Introduction to the logical framework approach and its benefits for addressing typical PhD project difficulties • The LogFrame logic: the vertical logic and the horizontal logic DAY 2 • Presentation of LogFrames by the participants • How to schedule and integrate workload, Introdcution to different Time
Learning outcomes:
Participants are required to bring their own laptop. Ideally participants should be at the start or in the middle of their PhD projects. All fields are concerned. |

Trainer: Stephan Steiner, diplômé en Lettres UNIL et titulaire d'un Brevet de formateur d'adultes, est le fondateur de l'Association 1951 qu'il préside à titre bénévole. Il intervient comme formateur et consultant dans les domaines de la communication interne, du leadership, de la gestion d'équipe ainsi que de la gestion de projet, du RBM (Result based Management et de la réingénierie de processus pour des clients tels que le CICR, la CUSO (Conférence universitaire de Suisse Occidentale), le DCAF ou encore des sociétés privés tels que KONE et Renaissance Fondation & Management. Dans le cadre du projet Innosuisse IMIRIS (Improved Integration for Refugees in Switzerland), il est en charge de la prospection et des relations clients ainsi que du lancement de produit. |
Frais | Participants are eligible for reimbursement of incurred travel expenses by train between the city of their university and the location of the workshop (half-fare card, 2nd class). |
