We will concentrate on the language used to give opinions, ask and answer questions effectively and to structure a presentation. The first day will be devoted to interactive exercises, confidence building, and some theory, while on the second day participants will give a presentation on their research topic, integrating the skills they have learnt. There will be peer and teacher feedback on presentation skills, as well as on grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation. Participants will prepare a 10-minute presentation to be given on day 2.
Learning Outcomes: The doctoral candidate will have developed their academic speaking skills and be able to participate more effectively in group seminars, deliver a scientific presentation and answer questions on their research.
