Description

The advanced Agile project management (PM) workshop is aimed at researchers working with a team of other researchers. It places high value on individuals, on collaboration and on the ability to respond quickly to change. Agile project management (PM) is an approach to PM that turns the traditional academic approach "upside down". Instead of extensive background research, planning, preparation, testing, feedback and revision that are time-consuming, Agile PM breaks projects down into smaller working blocks, that are continuously delivered and implemented within short time frames, to ensure incremental improvements throughout the process. During the course of this workshop, participants will have the chance to bring their own research projects and work on challenges they have encountered while leading these projects.

Prerequisite

Participants should have previously followed a Project Management training course.

Learning outcomes

Building on the concepts and learnings from the Fundamentals PM workshop, participants will:

• apply key concepts of Agile project management in a research environment,
• plan and manage a project with multiple team members,
• implement project team essentials incl. trust, communication structures, roles and responsibilities
• address issues and conflicts arising within their team
• analyze the stakeholder setting and devise ways to handle stakeholders
• lead collaborative problem-solving sessions.
