Description |
Over the last few years, research data and its appropriate management has become increasingly the focus of attention. From one hand the funders (public or private) are more and more interested to know how researchers manage the data produced thanks to their funding; and from the other hand the scientific journals require researchers to publish the dataset alongside with the articles in order to be able to analyse its quality and to allow reproducibility. Whether their interests lie in the digital humanities or the challenges of big data, for a career in academia or in industry, researchers need to be aware of these recent developments and be ready to provide the data that underpin their analyses and results. As professionals, researchers can no longer risk the loss of a dataset or apparent confusion over their results: clarity and availability are essential. This interactive workshop will give participants the essential knowledge to respond to these requirements, and will provide fundamental steps to cover the entire research data management cycle – from the launch of a project until its end. During the workshop, participants will learn about:
